Exploration of business opportunities within the Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone.

HOW

The Johor Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) is a strategic partnership established through an agreement exchanged between governments of Malaysia and Singapore on 7 January 2025.

It aims to elevate the economic potential of both nations by fostering bilateral economic cooperation and leveraging their respective comparative advantages: Malaysia's land and labour resources, and Singapore's financial and investment capabilities.

Spanning 3,588 square kilometres, JS-SEZ is strategically located in the southern Malaysian state of Johor, integrating the regions of Iskandar Malaysia and Pengerang, with 9 flagship zones, each with its own targeted economic sectors.

The key objectives are to:

  • Promote economic integration by enhancing cross-border business collaboration
  • Facilitate freer movement of people and goods across borders
  • Strengthen the regional business ecosystem by attracting high-value-added investments
  • Swedish companies looking to take advantage of the capabilities presented by both countries in the JS-SEZ can explore potential business opportunities in the zone, as well as to identify potential logistics networks presented by the zone.
