Unlocking Green Hydrogen Opportunities: The India–Sweden Cluster
What
India’s green hydrogen industry is entering a rapid growth phase, driven by strong government policy, significant capital commitments, and ambitious production targets. Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, India aims to achieve 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) of green hydrogen production annually by 2030, supported by a USD 2.4 billion incentive program and tenders exceeding USD 23 billion in cumulative value. The market is projected to grow from USD 2.5 billion in 2024 to USD 11.5 billion by 2030, reflecting a CAGR of ~30%, driven by industrial decarbonization mandates, falling renewable energy costs, and export ambitions.
Three major ports—Kandla, Paradip, and Tuticorin—are being developed as dedicated Green Hydrogen Export Hubs, positioning India to supply both European and Asian markets. By 2030, the government expects over 10 GW of dedicated electrolysis capacity and investments of USD 30–35 billion in the production and logistics ecosystem, including storage, pipelines, and transportation infrastructure.
For Swedish companies, this represents a strategically significant opportunity to deploy expertise in electrolyzers, fuel cells, storage, transport solutions, and industrial decarbonization technologies, while participating in one of the world’s fastest-growing green hydrogen markets.
How
Engage through the India–Sweden Green Hydrogen Cluster to access an ecosystem of India’s leading hydrogen developers, EPCs, and policymakers, and capture emerging opportunities in one of the world’s fastest-growing clean energy markets.
As projects move beyond proof-of-concept, developers and industrial players are actively seeking next-generation technologies that can perform under Indian operating conditions and meet global export standards. Port-linked hydrogen hubs and large industrial clusters are emerging as primary deployment sites.
Early engagement enables Swedish companies to co-develop scalable solutions, influence technical specifications, and embed proven technologies into first-wave commercial projects, positioning themselves as long-term partners as India’s hydrogen ecosystem scales for domestic use and international markets.
