As one of the world’s most stable and transparent economies, Canada continues to offer significant opportunities for Swedish companies. A highly skilled workforce, strong institutions, abundant natural resources, and close integration with North American markets make Canada an attractive destination across a wide range of industries.

At the same time, companies report a more challenging operating environment. Slower economic growth, increased trade complexity, customs procedures, corporate taxation, and global uncertainty continue to affect business conditions and investment decisions.

Cooperation between Sweden and Canada remains strong across sectors such as industrial equipment, clean technology, life sciences, telecommunications, advanced manufacturing, and professional services. Continued investments in innovation, sustainability, the energy transition, and digitalisation create opportunities for Swedish companies to offer competitive and sustainable solutions.

Competitiveness in Canada is closely linked to cost efficiency, customer collaboration, strong partnerships, and local market knowledge. The Swedish brand continues to be associated with quality, innovation, sustainability, and reliability.

Canada is widely regarded as a stable and attractive market with strong institutions, high levels of personal safety, and reliable business partners. At the same time, companies point to corporate taxation, customs procedures, and regulatory requirements as areas that continue to present challenges.
